Strengthening teaching, curriculum, assessment, and accountability so more children develop the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
Recruiting and training effective teachers, school leaders, and inspectors – and supporting them to stay in the profession.
Supporting policy development and improving governance, planning, and use of data, expanding what is possible.
Strengthening pathways from education into employment, while preparing learners for changing labour markets.
Ensuring reforms improve outcomes for girls, learners with disabilities, displaced populations, and other under-served groups.
We know ministries need evidence to make important reform decisions. We help you understand what works, drawing on research, data, and practical experience from education systems around the world.
We can support you at every stage, from strategy development and policy design through to delivery, monitoring, and evaluation.
We strengthen your existing structures and institutions rather than working in parallel, helping reforms to endure long after projects end.
Our international work means we can draw on a wide range of experience whilst ensuring initiatives reflect local needs and realities.

In Sierra Leone, we work alongside the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education to support education reform priorities and strengthen delivery across the system. Reflecting on an engagement with EDT at the FLEX Africa conference, Minister Conrad Sackey highlighted the importance of collaboration, local ownership and a shared commitment to improving outcomes for learners.
Here are just a few ways we are currently helping ministries deliver on their priorities.
We have been supporting the Ministry to deliver its bilingual education policy since 1984. Through CfBT Education Services, we continue to provide essential support to Brunei’s Ministry of Education through English language teacher recruitment and development.
Between 2021 and 2026, through the TEACH programme, we supported Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to make substantial improvements to the education system, in teaching quality, school inspections, and use of data. Now, we are building on those achievements through new initiatives that will further strengthen inspection and data systems, as well as promote inclusive leadership in schools.
Working with Imagine1day and Geneva Global in partnership with Ethiopia’s Ministry of Education and the Mastercard Foundation, we are delivering the Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia programme to help students transition into the world of work.
Through the INSPIRED programme, we are working with Kenya’s Ministry of Education to improve foundational learning for 200,000 children in Kenya, including 100,000 of the most marginalised.
