Our strapline – Learning to change the world – reflects a simple truth: learning is at the heart of who we are and what we do.
We work to strengthen education systems around the world. To do that well, we need to continually learn ourselves: from our programmes, from each other, and from the partners with whom we work.
Our Learning Communities are a key part of how we bring this to life. They are open, inclusive spaces where colleagues from around the world come together to explore key education and skills challenges, share knowledge and experience, learn from different perspectives, and shape our organisational thinking.
We also hold regular ‘town hall’ sessions, providing space to showcase programmes and ideas, demonstrating alignment to our values and bringing colleagues together to share learning in real time.
Our community sessions create space to step back from day to day delivery and think deeply about the issues that matter most. These usually take the form of a plenary session followed by workshop groups and have covered topics ranging from ‘Tackling the global teacher shortage’ to ‘What do the latest PISA results tell us’. Members of our community are invited to nominate subjects for future discussions.
Connect & Learn sessions also bring colleagues together from across the organisation to share insights, reflect on our work, and learn from each other’s experience. These sessions create space to think beyond day-to-day delivery, or to highlight specific practices that we think are important to share.
EDT Live provides a space to showcase programmes and ideas, demonstrating alignment to our values and bringing colleagues together to share learning in real time.
Our ambition is not only to deliver programmes, but to contribute to better thinking about education and employability.
By investing in learning, we:
This is how we stay relevant, effective, and impactful in a complex and changing world.
Learning Communities also reflect the kind of organisation we are. They are built on:
There are no hierarchies in learning – only shared responsibility for improving how we think and what we do.
All of our communities are supported further through our Ask KAM knowledge management system. Powered by both people and AI, it captures and connects learning from across the organisation, making insights, experience, and evidence easy to access and apply.
