Connect to Work Cornwall is a government-funded Supported Employment programme that helps people who need extra support to find and stay in work.
Delivered by EDT on behalf of the People Hub, the programme provides personalised employment support while working closely with employers and local partners to create sustainable employment opportunities.
Connect to Work aims to reduce barriers to employment and help more people participate fully in the local labour market.
The programme supports people to develop skills, confidence and independence while working with employers and community organisations to create more inclusive opportunities and improve employment outcomes across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
EDT’s specialist focus is supporting refugees as well as people with disabilities, helping them navigate employment opportunities, overcome barriers and access the support needed to move towards work.
We deliver the programme through the People Hub partnership. Working as part of a wider network of specialist providers allows participants to access a range of employment, wellbeing and community support through a joined-up service.
Organisations supporting local residents can refer people who may benefit from additional employment support. Individuals can also apply directly. Referrals are managed through the People Hub, which acts as the initial point of contact for participants seeking support.
We welcome partnerships with organisations including local authorities, community groups, health and support services, and other organisations working with people who may benefit from the programme.
Connect to Work provides specialist employment support and works alongside existing services rather than replacing them. We collaborate with partners to ensure people receive appropriate support to move towards work.
Employers can work with Connect to Work by sharing vacancies, supporting inclusive recruitment and helping participants succeed once they move into work.
