Our work in Gateshead

Overview

Funding for these  programmes has now ended. We were able to support 170 people in Gateshead move towards volunteering, work or training.

We offered free 1:2:1 appointments to help people explore their options or achieve specific goals. We worked on steps like researching training courses, accessing benefits advice and applying for jobs. 

We also helped people access a variety of activities like volunteering, jobs fairs and workshops that could help them reach their goals.

We worked with participants for up to a year and our appointments were be face to face or virtual, depending upon needs.

We had a flexible fund that to purchase things that could help participants gain and keep employment, such as interview clothes or tools.

About us

Gateshead Go Work Live and Gateshead Go Volunteer were delivered by Education Development Trust and Changing Lives on behalf of Gateshead Council. It was funded through Gateshead Council’s Shared Prosperity Fund by the UK Government.

Changing Lives were our delivery partner on Gateshead Go Work Live.

Eligibility criteria

Participants had to be out of work, over 18 years of age, live in the Gateshead Local Authority area, have the right to work in the UK and have a National Insurance number.
