The role of a Delivery Partner

When partnering with us, you will lead on working with schools to provide the Early Career Framework to their teachers. Your expert facilitators will deliver our curriculum and support the ECTs through their online work to achieve their ECF training. Mentors, chosen by the relevant schools, will be provided with dedicated training and online learning to flourish in their role.

A dedicated Partnership Manager will work with you to ensure you are effectively delivering the programme and to support you to develop within your role as a Delivery Partner. We provide our Delivery Partners with a good financial package, an invitation to our yearly conference and the opportunity to join a mature and collaborative Delivery Partner network.

Why partner with EDT?

  • Our approach

EDT is known and trusted for our longstanding commitment to school-led provision. We work together with our partners to create transformational professional-development pathways for educators, who on our programmes benefit from the best of local experience and international expertise.

Empowering mentors, equipping ECTs

We know from the impact data that our approach works. Like others, we base our model on Instructional Coaching, as this has a stronger evidential base for its impact on pupil outcomes than any other form of CPD. Unlike others, however, we take a nuanced approach in our use of this technique. Rather than ticking boxes, selecting predetermined action steps for their ECTs, mentors on our programme are supported to work with their ECTs to identify the highest leverage action steps and monitor progress together. This means we see our role to be empowering mentors to harness their professional judgement and experience, not telling them a ‘right way’ to foster the development of their ECTs.

In the second year of the programme, as ECTs grow in confidence and ability, mentors shift focus away from Instructional Coaching and towards a less directive role. This is to keep meeting them where they are and to help their ECTs prepare for life beyond induction - embracing the exciting challenges which lie ahead.

Throughout all this, mentors are given increasing choice in what they focus on in their own professional learning. We provide a range of rich resources to support their intellectual interests and career development, and the tools to consider how they can take their own practice to new levels.
