About Durham Skills Boost

Throughout the duration of the programme, we achieved 100% satisfaction of our course and tutor!

Participants of Durham Skills Boost accessed a free one or two-day taster course in several regions across County Durham. We helped them gain a better understanding of their learning options and supported them to have the confidence to pursue their goals.

This included taking their first steps to build digital skills and confidence with reading, communicating, and learning from our experienced tutor, Margaret.

We also covered up to £100 for travel or childcare costs.

Durham Skills Boost was delivered by Education Development Trust in County Durham. It was supported by Durham Learn and funded through Durham County Council’s Shared Prosperity Fund by the UK Government.

Key benefits of the programme

  • Helping participants removed from the labour market take their next steps into learning or getting work
  • Build their confidence in reading, speaking and learning
