Our Skills Bootcamp in Early Years is a free short course, giving you a fast route into a childcare career - no previous experience required.

You'll even receive a job interview at the end of the course.

Is the course free?

Yes. The entire course plus your DBS check are completely free to you as the student. If you are currently working in the Early Years sector, a small employer contribution is required.

Is the course online?

Yes teaching of the course is done live and online  through Zoom. The work experience section of the course is in person. 

How long is the course?

The course is 16 weeks in total. You will spend 8 weeks learning (two days per week) with our tutors and then 8 weeks of work experience (10 days in total). In total you receive 80 hours of guided learning.

What days and times is the course?

You must be available to study with us two days a week between the hours of 9.15am and 2.45pm. We'll confirm which days as soon as possible.

What accreditations will I receive?

You'll receive your full DBS check for free and gain qualifications in: 

  • Safeguarding & Child Protection
  • Food safety and hygiene
  • Paediatric First Aid

 

This course also includes content mapped to the Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship such as:

  • Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Child development
  • Theories and approaches on how children learn and develop
  • The importance of CPD in Early Years
  • How to effectively promote Equality, Diversity and inclusion in Early Years
  • Legal requirements in Health and Safety
What support is there for me during the course?

Alongside our expert tutors who deliver the Skills Bootcamp, our Development Coaches are a key part of your learning network and will always be available to help you succeed. They will help to enrol you, support you to find work experience in your area, and help you find a job or apprenticeship when you finish.

What level is the course?

The course will help you work towards a Level 3 and is a route to an accelerated apprenticeship in Early Years, meaning that you would be able to take 16 weeks off completion of your Level 3.

What are the next steps?

The process to be enrolled on Skills Bootcamps in Early Years follows these steps:

Step One: Please check your eligibility and apply here.

Step Two: Please book onto one of our information sessions using the link that comes up on our Thank You page, or that comes in our email response. At the information session you will learn what to expect on the course and what eligibility documents you need in order to complete your enrolment.  

Step Three: After an information session, you will be booked for an enrolment call with one of our Development Coaches. Your will need to ensure you have eligibility documents to hand for this, which will be discussed at the information session.

How you'll learn on the Skills Bootcamp

Our qualified tutors provide 8 weeks of online learning, and you'll undertake 8 weeks of work experience within a setting near you. You will also gain qualifications in Safeguarding & Child Protection, Food Safety and Hygiene, and Paediatric First Aid - all of which are essential for working in early years settings.
