Collaborative behaviour improvement in schools: implications for global policymakers

It supports senior leadership teams in primary and secondary schools, special schools and alternative provisions to make sustainable improvements to school culture and classroom behaviour – enabling children and young people to learn in a calm, safe, supportive environment. 

In this research report, we document the structure and impact of the Behaviour Hubs programme and examine its collaborative approach. We analyse feedback and survey data from participants, in the context of the Ofsted inspection framework, while calculating the cost per pupil and comparing it to other similar behaviour interventions. 

We discuss the consideration of school-led support and teacher buy-in as policy levers (alongside other policy levers such as autonomy and accountability) to influence reform, guide practice and improve educational outcomes. We then assess the implications of the Behaviour Hubs programme for global education policy, and make a number of recommendations for policymakers.
