Skills Bootcamps in Early Years achieves ‘significant progress’ rating from Ofsted

We are delighted to share that our work on the UK government-funded Skills Bootcamps in Early Years has achieved a ‘significant progress’ Ofsted rating, across the areas of leadership and management, and quality of provision.

At EDT, we understand the importance of objectivity when considering impact, so external sources are crucial in verifying our own judgements on the difference we make to people’s lives.

Key feedback we received from Ofsted highlighted the strong commitment shared by leaders, managers and staff to help learners access high-quality learning and meaningful skilled work, with staff working with a range of partners very effectively to recruit learners who often face barriers to accessing learning and work.

The report also highlights our ability to ensure the programme best meets learners’ needs, and our “skilful use” of our early years expertise to plan learning to build participants’ understanding over time. It praised the “range of helpful teaching methods” we use to enable learners to understand important concepts. It also emphasised our support for learners to carry out research independently, which “contributes to learners acquiring enhanced self-esteem and being well prepared to move on to further learning or work”.

“I am delighted that Skills Bootcamps in Early Years has achieved a ‘significant progress’ rating across the areas of leadership and management, and quality of provision, from Ofsted. This outstanding result is a testament to the dedication, expertise, and passion of our team in delivering high-quality skills training that makes a real impact.

“At EDT, we are committed to equipping learners with the essential skills and confidence to thrive in their careers, our dedicated teams are experts in their sectors and work to deliver measurable outcomes. It is therefore fantastic to be recognised for this and in ‘enhancing learners’ future employability prospects significantly’. This recognition from Ofsted highlights the effectiveness of our approach and the positive outcomes for our learners and employers alike.”
